"Your myNVivo account does not have a valid NVivo license. Check your login and account details and try again."
Answer
Follow the instructions below depending on your situation:
- Receiving an error when activating a purchased NVivo license
- Receiving an error when activating NVivo trial
- Receiving an error when activating NVivo enterprise license
Receiving an error when activating a purchased NVivo license
If you purchased a single license for yourself using your email address, please ensure you are using the exact same email to activate that was used at the time of purchase.
You can log into myLumivero portal using your email and click on the ‘My Purchases’ section to check the subscriptions under your account to view your active subscription account(s) and the My Purchases listings under them (there can be more than one account if you purchased a trial AND a full license).
If the license was purchased on your behalf, the purchaser will need to log into myLumivero and assign a license to you before you will have access to it.
For instructions on assigning licenses, refer to Manage multi-user licenses.
Once the license has been assigned to you, you will receive an email – usually within the next 10 to 15 minutes – after the assignment is completed. You can download the software by logging into my.lumivero.com and going to the Downloads link in the left hand navigation pane of your landing page.
Receiving an error when activating NVivo trial
The NVivo Trial requires a subscription.
To subscribe, log into your MyNVivo profile and go to the Store link on the top right of your dashboard and locate the NVivo trial product. You may need to select "More Options" to see it. Once you locate the product, you will need to walk through a "purchase" process in spite of it being a trial version.
Once the above steps have been completed, you should be able to log into MyNVivo within the software to activate it.
Receiving an error when activating NVivo enterprise license
If you have been provided an enterprise key and get an error, make sure you have installed the correct version of the software.
The license keys for NVivo 13/R1 start with NVT20 or NVP20.
The license keys for NVivo 14 start with NVT14 or NVP14.
If NVivo installation and activation is managed by your organization’s IT team and NVivo has already been activated, you do not need to log into the MyNVivo portal. You can just begin using the software.
If you have been provided an enterprise key for NVivo, you can open NVivo and manually enter the Enterprise license key and follow the prompts to activate NVivo. Once NVivo has been activated, there is no need to sign into your myNVivo account. You can start using NVivo.
Once NVivo has been activated, there is no need to sign into myNVivo account after launching the software. Signing in is only for activation or usage of one of our Cloud products (NVivo Transcription or Collaboration Cloud).
If your organization has purchased multiple licenses and you wish to activate NVivo, the license needs to be assigned to you before you are able to activate, please refer to I have purchased NVivo on behalf of someone, how do I give them access to NVivo
