To e.g. upload Output Styles to EndNoteOnline, you need an EndNote Online admin account.
How to request an EndNote Online admin account
The admin account needs to be "activated" by Clarivate. In turn, Clarivate needs the below information from us (Alfasoft) or the customer:
- Does the University also have a subscription for Web of Science?
- Do they have a Site or Volume License of EndNote?
- Can you provide the serial number for the purchase?
- What are the name and email address they have used for EndNote online?
Once Clarivate gets all the above information they should be able to pass along this request to the appropriate group for processing.
You will need to reach out to Clarivate support and ask for an admin account. Support can transfer the request to Entitlements, who can then elevate the user to Admin.

Suggested process
The WoS admin at your company contacts his/her assigned WoS contact at Clarivate and asks for EndNote online admin privileges (“Please turn on admin account features for my EndNote online account”).
Note!
Admin privileges are limited to when the Admin is accessing the service from an Institutional IP Address.

Who will see what you as admin upload?
The recognition that a user is associated with an Institution is established by a user logging into the EndNote Online service through a recognized IP Address range.
If a user logs in within the subscribed range they get associated with that institution automatically.
Single, Multi, Volume, Site… the license doesn’t matter. It’s really the IP Address that establishes the relationship between user and institution.
Basically, the way it works is that when a user logs into the EndNote Online service from an IP Address recognized by the Clarivates system as within a subscribed range, the user is then associated with that institution/corporation/’site’.
As such, they need to be subscribed to the Web of Science (WoS) service before that association can be made with their EndNote Online service. If they do choose to subscribe, the next time any of the users log in from a subscribed IP, they’ll automatically be associated.
Note!
EndNote desktop users are not going to be able to use/synchronize/access the uploaded styles from EndNote Online without switching over their tools to the less capable EndNote Online tools, which is less than desirable.
What some Admins may not understand is that all they need to do is make those style files available for the desktop users to Download, and the users can install them to the EndNote desktop software.
EndNote Online Admins “only” admin the EndNote Online service.
