ZIP files are common ways to send and download files. Read here how to open them?
Files of type *.zip are a collection of files that are compressed to reduce size. The compression makes it easier and faster to download multiple files at a time. You can also "zip" folders which are otherwise impossible to attach to an email.
HOW DO I UNPACK A ZIP FILE?
Several programs can do this, and the two most common are WinZip and WinRar. A free option we recommend is 7Zip.
There is also built-in functionality in Windows XP/Vista/7/8 to extract ZIP files, so check if you have the feature on your computer before downloading additional software.
Most likely, your computer has the ZIP function, so find the file you want to unpack on your computer and right-click the file to see if you find a choice called "unpack all" or "extract all". Then follow the instructions to extract the zip file into your folder on your computer.
