The EndNote desktop trial works as a fully functional version during the trial period. You have 30 days from the first time you use the program to evaluate EndNote and all its features. After the 30-day trial period ends, the program reverts to a feature-restricted EndNote Viewer.
Your EndNote libraries and references are not deleted when the trial expires. You can still open EndNote libraries, search, sort and print references. However, with EndNote Viewer, you cannot:
- Add or edit references in a library that already has 10 or more references.
- Format more than 10 citations in a paper.
- Retrieve more than 10 references from a remote database.
- Import more than 10 references.
- Export more than 10 references at one time.
- Sync with EndNote online.
To restore full functionality, purchase an EndNote license and activate EndNote with your product key via Help > Activate EndNote.
