Sometimes we need data from you to solve issues. Below are instructions on finding some of this data in order to send it to us.
1. Your library summary
The library summary gives us an overview of your library, and we can sometimes spot problems directly from this summary.
- Open your library
- Go to Library>Library Summary... (for versions before 20: Tools>Library summary…)
- Click “Copy to clipboard” and paste it into your answer email
2. Your sync status
The sync status gives us an overview of your library’s sync status, and we can sometimes spot problems directly from this summary.
Please notice! This applies only if you have an EndNoteOnline account and have synced your library.
- Open your Endnote library
- Click on “Sync Status…” in the group panel
- Click “Copy to clipboard” and paste it into your answer email
3. Your library
The best way to send (or make a backup) of your library is via the "Compressed Library"-function in EndNote. You find it in EndNote under File>Compressed Library (.enlx)...

4. The output style
All output styles have the file extension ”*.ens”. The easiest way to find your output style is to search your computer for either the specific style name or search for all *.ens files.
5. The connection file
All connection files have the file extension ”*.enz”. The easiest way to find your connection file is to search your computer for either the specific connection name or search for all *.enz files.
6. The import filter
All import filters have the file extension ”*.enf”. The easiest way to find your import filter is to search your computer for either the specific filter name or search for all *.enf files.
