How to install the SigmaPlot License Manager (Sentinel) and the SigmaPlot clients. This is for floating/concurrent/simus network licenses of SigmaPlot 15, 14.5 and 14.
SigmaPlot Network Installation Guide
Please note that you need a license key/file for your version. v15 license key/file will only work for SigmaPlot 15 client installs. v15, 14.5 and 14 license keys/files can be activated on the v15 license manager/server (Sentinel), v14.5 and v14 can be activated on the v14.5 license manager/server (Sentinel), but not v15 on v14.5 license manager.
1. Install Sentinel License Manager service for SigmaPlot 15 or 14.5

On the server, you can install the SigmaPlot 15/14.5 client program, and then start SigmaPlot and choose:
Help > License Status > [License information] > Install License Manager
Depending on which version you have purchased, please choose your download below:

To start the installation, right-click the downloaded installation file, and choose "Run as administrator".
Enter your serial number, or use the 30-day trial serial number: 775500001 (v15) or 775400014 (v14.5/14).

You can download the license manager utility and install the License Manager service (no need for SigmaPlot client install):

XX = Your version number
Unzip the files, then run the SPW_XX_LicenseUtility.exe, choose the [License information] tab, and click the "Install License Manager" button to install the license manager service.
If you wish to use the command line installation of the license manager, open a command prompt as administrator. Then change to the SPWXXLM directory, and enter the command:
haspdinst /i
To see if the License Manager service is running on your server, please open your web browser and go to:
http://Localhost:1947
It should bring up the following webpage.
2. Request your product key
To be able to activate your SigmaPlot License Manager, you will need a product key. Please note that if your server does not have an internet connection, you will need to do a manual activation. Please see below the "5. Manual activation of the License Manager" section.

You will get an email (1-2 days) directly from Inpixon.com with an attached text file containing your product key.
3. Activate the SigmaPlot License Manager service
When you have gotten your email with the product key (inside the text file that is attached to the email), you are ready to activate the SigmaPlot License Manager service.
- - - Option 1 - - - SigmaPlot installed on License Manager server
Start the SigmaPlot client install on your server by right-clicking the SigmaPlot start icon and choosing "Run as administrator".
Choose Help > License status, and enter your product key in the License activation tab. Then click the Apply license button.
Please note that you need an internet connection on the server. Please see section 7. below for ports that must be open in your firewall.
- - - Option 2 - - - SigmaPlot not installed on License Manager server
Download, unpack and run SPW_15_Network.zip (SigmaPlot 15) or the SPW14_5LicUtil.zip (SigmaPlot 14.5 licensing) or the SPW14_LicenseUtility.zip file (SigmaPlot 14.0 licensing) by right-clicking the unpacked SPW_15_NetworkLicenseUtility.exe or SPW_14_LicenseUtility.exe or SPW_14_5_LicenseUtility.exe file on your license server, and choose "Run as administrator". Enter your product key in the License activation tab. Then click the Apply license button.
4. Client installs of SigmaPlot
When the Sentinel License Manager service is set up and running and activated with your product key, you are ready to install SigmaPlot on your client computers.
This is the same install as for the single-user/demo install of SigmaPlot.

If the Sentinel License Manager service is running on the same network as your client, SigmaPlot will discover this on the first run. If you start SigmaPlot and it is still in “demo” mode, you might need to tell the client install of SigmaPlot where to find the License Manager. You must create a separate configuration file to enable SigmaPlot to find the Sentinel License Manager.
Please note that if you have started SigmaPlot client in demo mode, it will keep being in demo mode even though you insert hasp.ini file. But demo mode is fully functional, and after the trial period is over (30 days), SigmaPlot client will automatically use hasp.ini file and switch to full mode.
To enable Sigmaplot to locate the Sentinel License Manager, create a configuration file in the user’s AppData directory pointing to the License Manager machine.
Create a file called "hasp_107466.ini" (by using e.g. Notepad). You can download an example hasp ini file by clicking here and editing it locally on your computer.
The hasp_107466.ini file should contain the following line:
SERVERADDR = remoteServerAddress
Where remoteServerAddress is the IP address or computer/server name of the License Manager computer/server.
For example SERVERADDR = 10.10.10.170
Note
A separate hasp_107466.ini file must be stored on each client install of Sigmaplot.
Place the file on all the computers where SigmaPlot is installed in the following directory:
- %LocalAppData%/SafeNet Sentinel/Sentinel LDK/
For Example,
- Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\"UserName"\Local Settings\Application Data\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel LDK\ hasp_107466.ini
- Windows Vista/7/8/10: C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Local\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel LDK\ hasp_107466.ini
Manual activation of the License Manager
If you do not have an internet connection or your firewall settings (see below/end for details) are preventing the License Manager service from activating automatically via the internet, you will need to send the "fingerprint" ID of the server. In return, you will get an activation file you can use to activate the licenses manually.
5. Collect status information/fingerprint for your server
You will find the RUS.exe in the SigmaPlot program folder or in the License Manager Utility zip folder (see Section 1, Option 2 above/top).
Right-click the 'RUS.exe' file, choose "Run as administrator" on the server, and select the “Collect Status Information” tab.
Select the “Installation of new protection key” radio button and click the “Collect Information” button, it will allow you to save the file with *.c2v extension.
If you already have licensed the server, select the "Update of existing protection key", and choose the row with the newest date in the following windows.
After choosing/clicking the row with the newest date, click the OK button to generate your status file (.c2v).

Fill in the form and attach the status file you have just created (*.c2v file). We will generate a license activation file (*.v2c file) for you that you can use to activate your license(s). This usually takes 1-2 days. You will receive the activation file via email (attachment).
6. Activate the SigmaPlot License Manager service with your license file
Once you receive the license activation file (*.V2C) file from us (as an email attachment), save it to your server/computer.
Open your web browser with the link:
http://Localhost:1947
Click the ‘Update/Attach’ link in the left menu, and then click the ‘Choose file’ button to locate and open the network activation file (*.V2C) license file. Click the ‘Apply File’ button to attach and activate your SigmaPlot Network licenses.
Your Sentinel License Manager should now be activated and running.
7. Firewall, IP and Port settings
These firewall settings must be open for automatic activation by a product key.
SigmaPlot license server (automatic activation) uses IP/server addresses: 111.93.158.84 and 122.166.185.108 and port 8080 for communication. If required, please also whitelist inpixon.sentinelcloud.com.
Ports that must be open for communication (licensing) between the client install and license server (local network):
UDP and TCP port 1947, Please see 4.) above for configuration of client hasp.ini file (if client and license server is not on the same network).
v11 and v12 are served by Sentinel RMS, which uses UDP port 5093.
v13, v14 and v15 are served by Sentinel LDK, which uses port 1947.
SigmaPlot software updates (client)
SigmaPlot 14 regularly checks for updates via an internet connection. This port and IP must be open/not restricted through your firewall.
Port: 8080. IP: 111.93.158.84
8. How to transfer a license to a new server
You can transfer a license to a new server with the RUS utility.
The rus.exe file/utility can be found in your SigmaPlot program folder (c:programs:sigmaplot:spwXX), or you can download it here (exe file) or here (zip file)(unpack and run).
- Install the license manager on the new server. (See section 1. on the top of this page)
- Run the rus.exe file on the new server, and choose the [Transfer license] tab.
- Do step 1: Create and save a recipient id file. Transfer this ID file to your old server.
- Run the rus.exe file on the old server, and choose the [Transfer license] tab.
- Select the license, load the recipient ID file, and generate the license transfer file. Transfer this file to your new server.
- Back to the new server, run the rus.exe file and choose the [Apply License File] tab.
- Load and apply the license transfer file (from the old server).
9. How to delete a license from the License Manager/Server
If you have old or inactive licenses you want to delete from your license manager/server, please be advised that there is no "Delete" button in the license manager. But you can accomplish this by simply doing the transfer process (and not transferring the actual file).
The rus.exe file/utility can be found in your SigmaPlot program folder (c:programs:sigmaplot:spwXX), or you can download it here (exe file) or here (zip file) (unpack and run).
- Run the rus.exe file on your server, and choose the [Transfer license] tab.
- Select the license and generate the license transfer file.
- Confirm that everything is ok, and the license should be deleted. (You can now delete the transfer file).
