The EndNote library
An EndNote library consists of a file with the extension *.enl plus a corresponding *.DATA folder. Both units make up a complete library, and they need to have the exact same name and be located in the same location (see picture below).
Backup of the library
The simplest way to send (or make a backup) of your library is via the "Compressed Library"-function in EndNote.
You find it in EndNote under File>Compressed Library (.enlx)...
How to use/restore your backed-up library
First, place the backup file where you want the library (Storage location for Endnote libraries).
When you want to recreate a functional library from the compressed file, open the file like you would a normal library, and EndNote will do the rest.
