Accessing Manuscript Matcher
You can access Manuscript Matcher in several ways:
- In EndNote Desktop: Right-click on a Group in *My Library* and select Manuscript Matcher. Alternatively, with a Group highlighted, go to the Groups menu and select Manuscript Matcher.
- In Microsoft Word: Open your manuscript and click on Manuscript Matcher from the *EndNote Cite While You Write* toolbar.
- In EndNote Online: Log into your EndNote online account, go to Match, and select the Group containing your manuscript references.
Step-by-Step Guide to Using Manuscript Matcher
1. Prepare Your Manuscript
Make sure your title, abstract, and keywords are ready. Manuscript Matcher will analyze this information, along with any references you’ve used, to help find the best-matching journals.
2. Enter Manuscript Details
In the Manuscript Matcher window, paste the title and abstract into the appropriate fields. These fields help the tool understand your manuscript’s topic and scope.
If accessing via EndNote Online, select the Group containing your manuscript’s references under References.
3. Run the Match
Click Find Journals to let Manuscript Matcher analyze your input. Using Web of Science and Journal Citation Reports data, it will identify journals that match your manuscript’s content.
4. Review Recommended Journals
Manuscript Matcher will display up to 10 recommended journals with detailed information, including impact factor, acceptance rate, and indexing details. This information will help you assess which journals may be a good fit for your work.
5. Refine and Select
You can filter or sort the list based on metrics or field-specific criteria that are important to you, such as impact factor or audience.
6. Submit Your Manuscript
Once you’ve selected a journal, refer to its submission guidelines to proceed with the submission process.
