Citavi rejects a license key.
Cause
The license keys are only valid for a specific version of Citavi:
- A Citavi 6 license key is only valid for Citavi 6.
- A Citavi 5 license key is only valid for Citavi 5.
Solution
Check whether you are working with the latest version of Citavi. The version number is displayed at the bottom left of the Welcome Screen.
You can also download the latest version directly from www.citavi.com/download. Double-click the Citavi6Setup.exe file to start the installation of the update and then log in to Citavi 6 with your account information. Citavi will recognize whether you have a valid license for Citavi 6.
If you want to work with Citavi 5, download it here and then enter your license key after installation. Your Citavi Account allows Citavi 6 site license users to request a license key for a previous version of Citavi.
